The word Agronomy is derived from two Greek words, agros and namos which means field and to manage. Literally, it means “the art of managing fields” and technically can say science and economics of crop production by management of farm land.

Agronomy is a branch of agriculture dealing with field crop production and soil management which provides information on crop improvement, crop breeding, crop production & protection and to maximize the yield and profit.

Agricultural Research got developed mainly due to increase in world population which let them think to expand the crop production by using new methods. Agronomists are producing sufficient amount of food with economic growth by considering all the aspects.

Agricultural Research shows provides information on plant density and crop geometry, nature of soil, seeds and sowing techniques, seasons and system of farming, crop production, Irrigation and water management, nutrient management.
