One of rice NPR1 homologous gene, OsRXI5 function was analysed related to bacterial blight and bakanae disease. Over-expression of OsXRI5 conferred disease resistance to bacterial blight and bakanae disease. OsXRI5-overexpressed transgenic lines were shown the higher level expression of several pathogenesis-related protein genes, OsPR4, OsPR10 and OsPAL, than wild type rice.
