Biography:
Monia, a Soil Scientist and Environmental Engineer, specializes in dispersive soils and hydrological modeling. As a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at CWiMI, she focuses on soil science, particularly the "Fire Resilience of Temperate Highland Peat Swamps on Sandstone" project. Her expertise lies in sodic and dispersive soil management, soil chemistry, and various agricultural systems. Monia has collaborated with The University of Queensland, contributing to research on soil management, published papers on agronomy and soil science, and contributed to the Paddock to Reef Integrated Monitoring program for the Queensland Government. Commencing her career as a Hydrological Modeller, she completed her PhD on the impact of dispersive sodic soils on wheat at UQ, followed by roles at Sugar Research Australia managing various research projects related to soil health and crop management in the Burdekin region. Throughout her career, she has collaborated extensively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
