Title : Evalution of seed treatment in various plants using the biological fungus Trichoderma and its effect on plant growth systems

Abstract:

Today, the use of biological fertilizers is a very desirable solution in order to prevent the destruction of water resources, soil and environment, and at the same time to achieve optimal performance in agriculture,One of these biological factors is the biological fungus Trichoderma, which increases the plant's resistance to plant diseases by using different mechanisms, as well as stimulating the roots for plant growth and development. Our experiments on various crops like sesame, canola, wheat, and corn have shown that by disinfecting seeds with Trichoderma, not only does the germination rate increase and growth traits improve throughout the growing season, but due to Trichoderma’s infiltration into all plant cells, resistance to plant pathogens also develops.  The entire set of experiments was conducted over four growing seasons from 2022 to 2024, following a completely randomized block design, at the Shahid Rajai Agricultural and Industrial Company in Dezful. Initially, the seeds were coated with the Trichoderma fungus in a specified ratio, and after drying, they were planted in the main field. Throughout the growing seasons, data collection was carried out daily, and the data were recorded in Excel software. Finally, data analysis was performed using SPSS software. In the end, it was revealed that all growth traits in the mentioned plants significantly increased compared to the control group and showed a meaningful difference at a 1% probability level.  Ultimately, it can be concluded that treating seeds with the biological fungus Trichoderma is a very effective way to boost plant productivity and, as a result, increase the final yield of the crop. This method can be used in sustainable farming systems.
