Title : Plant molecules used as mosquitoecidal agent

Abstract:

Mosquitoes is very dangerous insect pest. It is producing life threatening diseases like chikungunya fever, yellow fever, encephalitis, malaria, dengue fever and filariasis. Mosquito-borne diseases cause millions of deaths each year. The unlimited usage of synthetic insecticides has led to re - emergence and increasing the mosquito populations throughout world over the year. There is need alternative insecticidal compounds to increase the current technology are important to be discover to overcome the insecticidal resistance and persistence of pesticides in vectors and the environment respectively. Worldwide, dengue fever is increased about thirty times over the last fifty years with emergencies in new countries. Currently studies reported mosquitoes will continuously spreading over the globally in the coming decades, which may create the dangerous situation about 50% of global population affect and it may risk of mosquito-borne viral disease transmission. Plant molecules are botanicals, which are highly used as insecticides. Use of botanicals for management of mosquitoes control were in use since 1920s. Phytochemicals are best source for alternative of synthetic pesticides. Phytochemicals are easily biodegradable and environmental safety. Currently, nearly 1% of plant source insecticides are in the global market. It hast to be increase in the coming decades. We have been screened several plant extracts, molecules and derived molecules against mosquito’s larva. Somewhat showed good activity, it can be converted as a product and useful to the society.
