Title : Effect Of Drought Stress On Aquaporin Isoforms Expression Level
Abstract:
Rootstocks play a major role in grapevine tolerance against water stress as well as phylloxera. In the present study, greenhouse grown grapevines of cv. Horozkaras? (Vitis vinifera L.) grafted on different rootstocks (110R and 5BB) were subjected to two irrigation levels (well irrigated and non-irrigated) and subsequently they were screened for their aquaporin isoforms expression level and lipid peroxidation (MDA). In this context, the expression pattern of different PIPs group of aquaporin (PIP1-2, PIP1-3, PIP2-1, PIP2-2) and lipid peroxidation (MDA) were measured in leaves. The influence of rootstock/scion interaction on plant adaptation to stress is briefly discussed. The main conclusion of present study was that rootstock not only effected physiologically or biochemically but also regulated molecular levels.
