Biography:
Professor Mashela studied MS and PhD in Nematology at the University of Florida, Gainesville, USA from 1988 to 1992, supervised by Professor Robert McSorley and Professor Larry Duncan, respectively. After completion he entered politics in South Africa at the dawn of democracy and joined the University of Limpopo, where he trained a large number of PhD students from South Africa and the African continent, with collaborators from various universities in Belgium. Along with his students Prof Mashela has over 300 published research articles.
