Biography:
Mariana Segura holds a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from the Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas. She is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Chemical Sciences at the National University of Colombia, where she conducts her research within the Quipronab Research Group. Her research focuses on evaluating the antimicrobial potential of Colombian plant species against microorganisms associated with skin diseases through the extraction, characterization, and fractionation of plant extracts, as well as the identification of bioactive compounds with potential applications in the development of new therapeutic alternatives. Her research experience is centered on natural products, with an emphasis on phytochemistry, microbiology, and the evaluation of the biological activity of plant extracts and natural metabolites.
