Biography:
Lida Vanessa Hernández Moreno is a biologist from Universidad de La Salle (Bogotá, Colombia), with an MSc in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia, and holds Junior Researcher recognition from Minciencias (Call 957, 2024). She currently serves as Technical Activities Coordinator of the SGR-INGREDIENTES project at Universidad de La Salle, a multi-institutional consortium with the Universidad Nacional de Colombia, Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, and BIOINNOVA, focused on developing natural cosmetic and food ingredients from non-timber forest products of the Chocó biodiversity hotspot. Her research integrates phytochemistry, antioxidant and antimicrobial bioassays, and quorum sensing inhibition, with particular expertise in bioactive compounds from Piper species and their role in modulating virulence factors and biofilm formation in Pseudomonas aeruginosa. She has co-authored publications in Molecules, Plants, and Antibiotics, and has presented her work at more than ten national and international scientific conferences across Latin America and Mexico.
