Plant Biology is a branch of biology which deals with plant life and its development and Plant Biology covers wide range of scientific aspects like plant structure, plant growth, plant reproduction, plant metabolism, plant development, plant diseases, and plant chemical properties and plant evolutionary relationships.

All plant species will respond to all environmental factors like light, gravity, temperature and predation. Although there are unique in species but all plants are with same features i.e. stem, root and leaves, through which they transport water, minerals and sugars through the process of photosynthesis.

Plants are the main source for food and oxygen in our biosphere, which means a life existing on earth, should depend only on plants. Also they provide shelter, fuel, fiber and medicinal compounds. Researchers are much fascinate about plants and its biological relationship with other organisms in this ecosystem.

Plant Biology is the main step to understand the biological system of plants, which is necessary to go on for further research in genetic engineering, genomics, gene mutations, breeding. On the basis of the biological studies on plants scientists developed plants with disease resistant, pests resistant and better yield.
